Building creatives for LIFE.

Since 2020, Life Creative STL has given young creatives in and around Ferguson the platforms, pathways and people to turn their gifts into livelihoods — and their stories into the story of our city.

We infuse every story with LIFE.

L — Leadership. Creatives who lead their craft, their teams and their community.

I — Innovation. Creative skills that open doors well beyond the arts.

F — Faith. Kingdom-centered, family-first, rooted in purpose.

E — Entrepreneurship. Ownership — of our work, our equity and how our city is presented.

Pathways. Projects. Places.

01 · Pathways — From classroom to career

Residencies, cohorts and courses that pair creatives with mentors, financial literacy and real opportunity.

Osaic for Life residency & mentoring pathway · M1 Academy financial literacy for middle and high schoolers · Creative Connections at Maryville University

02 · Projects — Real work, real credits

Paid workforce development on productions that let our creatives direct the narrative of how St. Louis is seen.

Films and specials for PBS · Content for the Cardinals, St. Louis Public Radio and Jazz St. Louis · Original series like Pray for Pac

03 · Places — Rooms to create in Ferguson

Spaces that make North County a destination for young and up-and-coming creatives.

Front Room Studio at the NCIC · Faith & Family Fridays at Good News Brewing · Monthly creative meetups

The people we formed are now leading the work.

Formed to form. That’s the measure we care about most: creatives who came through LCSTL now run our studio, teach alongside us and carry the model forward.

Alumni run Front Room Studio — studio management, engineering and editing, all led by people from our cohorts.

A cohort alum co-founded weform — Joshua “Paco” Lee went from the Osaic for Life cohort to Practitioner-in-Residence at Maryville.

An artist in residence — former cohort member Malena Smith is Artist-in-Residence at the World Chess Hall of Fame.

Recognized by the industry — 2020 Wealthies Award winner and 2025 finalist for our financial-services partnerships.

From the basement to the block to the boardroom.

Our story. Life Creative STL began as a desire to provide platforms and pathways for young creatives where they live. What now exists is an ecosystem rooted in equity — artists, institutions and partners building lasting opportunity in and around Ferguson.

01 · The Basement — Where it started. Young creatives, a home studio and a belief that Ferguson’s stories deserved to be told by Ferguson.

02 · The Block — Pathways & projects. Residencies, M1 Academy and paid client work that put creatives on real sets.

03 · The Boardroom — Partnerships that last. Osaic, Maryville and family foundations investing in creatives the way we invest in tech founders.

04 · What’s next — Life and Soul. Our model, carried by the people we formed — in a studio, a platform and a media company of our own.

Everything that grows from Life Creative STL.

Each one carries our Life and Soul philosophy — forming creatives through content, conversations and community.

Front Room Studio — our faith-centered podcast and content studio at the North County Innovation Center.

Osaic for Life — our partnership with the Osaic Foundation: mentors, financial literacy and support for creatives and students.

Our podcasts — the Inventory Podcast and Formation Fridays: stories from our partners, mentors and cohorts.

Faith & Family Fridays — a free monthly writers round at Good News Brewing in Ferguson.

weform — built on our model and co-founded by a cohort alum: a mentorship platform for students, launching at Maryville in April 2027.

Life and Soul Media (coming December) — music, films and stories from our creatives, launching alongside the Front Room open house.
